Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25, 1970) is an American former tight end in the NFL. Gonzalez played for the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. One of the NFL's most successful tight ends and the third most effective overall receivers, he has been named the NFL's most effective tight end, in terms of receptions, yards he has received, achieved, and so on.

Former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as a FOX Sports studio analyst. Gonzalez was a guest as a guest on FOX NFL KICKOFF (FOX's hour-long NFL pregame show prior to FOX NFL the SUNRISE), which is broadcast every Sunday at 11:00AM ET throughout the NFL season.
Gonzalez's assertion that he would retire from the NFL following 2013 was not true. On March 15 2013 Gonzalez agreed to sign with the Falcons the two-year deal worth $14,000,000. Randy Moss retired in 2013, and Gonzalez at 37 at the time, was able to finish the final year of his career in the position of being the NFL leader for receiving yards.
